Rachel Rigg
Rachel collaborates with HR professionals to identify and manage HR legal risks effectively. She loves to learn about her clients' businesses and to find ways to support them in achieving their goals. Her expertise is in Employment Tribunal claims, having built her career on managing volume Tribunal claims on behalf of large UK-based employers. Rachel brings that experience to the table when advising her clients at any stage of a potential employment issue. This includes mitigating risks at the outset of any initial concern (even before litigation is contemplated) through to successfully defending those claims that do land. Rachel frequently appears in the Employment Tribunal as an advocate.
Rachel's training included a 6-month secondment to the Silicon Valley, where she advised US clients on their data protection obligations in the UK and Europe. With this background, Rachel has carved out a niche advising clients on the intersection of employment and data protection law, with a particular focus on managing contentious employee subject access requests. Rachel works closely with clients' HR and Legal teams to ensure that subject access requests are managed in a way that supports any litigation strategies in play. Her aim is to provide clear and practical advice to help employers navigate requests with confidence.
Outside of work, Rachel spends her time with friends - whether that's trying a new restaurant or finding a great wild swimming spot. She also loves to read.
